The last Resurrection Medical Mission trip of 2024 was remarkable and had God’s fingerprints on it with every deed and action. A strong presence of prayer support from friends and family took us step by step throughout our trip.
God started this great venture long before setting foot in the airport with the gathering of over 275 lbs of medicines and medical supplies to accompany us on our trip. He then pre-arranged for every pound of supplies to sail though customs with His blessing. During 3 medical camps in various areas of the country, we watched despair turn into hope and discouragement change to joy as we provided health care consultations, medications, medical supplies, prayers and a listening ear.
There were three encounters (out of the 338 patients seen) that especially touched my heart. First, a 103 year old gentlemen received medical care and then, after hearing of the saving grace of Jesus Christ, accepted Jesus as his Savior!
The second encounter that moved me was when a woman who had statues of idols and signs of witchcraft in her home allowed us to pray for her, wept over the blessing and received a Bible in her language. She asked for help in getting to church services and was assured that help would come.
The third moving encounter troubles my heart. A grown son asked if we could give his elderly father a pill that would make him to not be hungry. The son reported that the father was always hungry but there was no food to feed his father. We shared our lunch with this family, but their future is still uncertain.
Even when physical food or medicine is not available, God’s hand is upon His people and His fingerprints are left as evidence of His presence in the lives of His followers.
